Original framed acrylic painting on canvas board, image size 60 x 60 cm.
I came across Bardsea when we stopped at the famous Roy’s Ice cream van and sat looking over the bay. I was struck by the beautiful ethereal light and had to try to capture it. Returning again on a different trip to get more inspiration and an ice cream was a double treat.
This series of paintings are inspired by the soft, hazy light over the sands near Bardsea looking towards Morecambe Bay which is an estuary in northwest England, just to the south of the Lake District National Park. It is the largest expanse of intertidal mudflats and sand in the United Kingdom.
